Doodhpokhari (Milky Lake) is a holy/religious lake at the altitude of 4500m to 5300m at the base of Baudha Himal in between border of Lamjung and Gorkha district of Nepal. This rural municipality is named after the lake. It has 153.33 square km area Gorkha District in the east, Dordi Rural Municipality in the west and north and Rainas Municipality and Gorkha district in the south.

After March 10,2017 all the VDCS were transformed into the rural municipality so Doodhpokhari Vdc is transformed to Doodhpokhari municipality. According to the 2021 cencus of Nepal it had a population of 8,592 people living in 2590 individual house holds.


Lipey Danda , Doodhpokhari , Illampokhari , Gaunda kot are the major tourist attraction in this Rural Municipality. Mountains like Himalchuli, Lamjung Himal, Boudha Himal and the Annapurna ranges and the Fishtail Mountain (Macchhapucchhere) are also the majestic view of this rural municipality.
